How RecentBrief researches a briefing
We search recent coverage, open the page, and keep a live URL on every story. The briefing is a map to sources. It is not a replacement for them. Hallucinations can start their own paper.
Editions are researched and then drafted with models. If we cannot cite a URL, the story does not ship.
Search
You name the beats — Tech & AI, markets, sports, climate, and the rest — plus companies, leagues, or people we should always hunt for. We search recent news for those beats. Old roundups and undated posts do not make the cut.
Read
A headline is not enough. We open the page and take the body we need to brief the story. If the URL is junk or we cannot fetch a real article, that hit is dropped. Trusted publishers are preferred. Random blogs that rewrite each other are not a source pack.
Write with the URL attached
The edition is drafted from those opened pages. Every story keeps the source name and a live link. You can expand the summary and jump to the original. If we cannot cite a page, the story does not ship. That gate is the product, not a slogan.
Models help draft. They do not get to invent a URL. The Who is RecentBrief. The How is search, read, then write. The Why is a morning you can finish — and a friend who can hear the same sourced edition.
Listening does not drop the citations
The listen page is the same briefing, spoken, with the same stories and source chips underneath. Audio is for the commute. The citations stay on the page. Share the link and a friend can play it and still see where each beat came from.

- Are AI news summaries made up?
- Not here. Every story has to point at a page we opened. No URL, no story.
- Do I still need the original article?
- When a story matters, yes. The briefing is a map. The source link is the destination.
