Refund Policy
Effective 27 August 2026
Checkout is prepaid. After you have used the product in a meaningful way, payments are not refundable. Inside a short window we will refund unused value. This policy is part of the Terms of Service.
The rule
You have three calendar days from the time Razorpay captures the payment to email a refund request. After that, the order is final, except where Indian consumer law gives you a right we cannot exclude.
We look at generation usage tied to that purchase — not at how many times you listened. Listening is free and does not by itself block a refund.
Plus and Pro (monthly or yearly)
Full refund if, after that payment, you have not generated any briefing that consumed paid-plan minutes (Free-allowance-only use, if any, does not count against the refund).
Partial refund if you generated some paid minutes but used less than half of the included minutes for that plan’s 30-day window. We subtract the value of minutes used, priced as (amount you paid for that order) ÷ (included minutes for that plan). If the remainder is under ₹50 we do not refund, because of processing cost.
No refund if you have used 50% or more of the included minutes for that window, or if we reasonably believe the request is abusive (repeat refunds, generated-then-cancel patterns, or payment dispute plus refund claim for the same order).
The three-day clock starts at purchase, including yearly plans. You cannot wait months into a yearly term and then ask for a refund under this policy.
Top-up packs
Full refund within three days only if no minute from that top-up lot has been consumed. If any minute from that lot is used, the pack is not refundable.
How to ask
Email hello@recentbrief.com from the Google account email on file. Include the Razorpay payment ID (and order ID if you have it), the date, and whether it was Plus, Pro, or a top-up.
We may ask you to confirm we can pause generation on the account while we review. Approved refunds go back through Razorpay to the original method, usually within 5–10 business days after we approve. Your bank can take longer to show the credit.
What happens to the plan
If we refund a plan order in full, we revert that entitlement (typically back to Free, or to whatever valid plan you had before). If we issue a partial refund, we may reduce remaining minutes for that period so they match what you kept. A refunded top-up lot is removed.
What we will not refund
Requests after three days. Orders where usage crosses the thresholds above. Duplicate or fraudulent payments you already recovered via the bank. Failures at Google, Clerk, news sources, models, or speech providers after a briefing was successfully generated. Change of mind after heavy use. Taxes or gateway fees we cannot recover, which we may deduct from a partial refund.
Chargebacks
Contact us first. A chargeback for a payment that was valid under these terms may lead to account suspension and collection of the disputed amount plus costs.
